As we are moving into a new time...

what we create today will change the world tomorrow.

One of the hardest things as a choreographer is to stay relevant. How does one evolve with ever constant change. All forms of dance have become so popularized in main stream media that is seems easy to get lost in shuffle. My acting teacher once told me "there is room for everyone in the business..." And I believe her. It is a business... and crossing the line of artist to business person is tremendously difficult, almost impossible for some but mandatory to survive. How can we stay relevant and promote your brand? (Brand being you)

"there is room for everyone in the business..." And I believe her.

I have had a few obstacles figuring out these 2 main sticking points. I will tackle the 1st one that I call "writers block"

'writers block...

Going back to the basics seams mundane. When that moment comes when you feel like you have "writers block" the best solution is to go back to your roots. What ever form of dance you started with. If it is ballet... go to the bar. Do some pliers. Listen to the music until you hear a piece that pulls you away from the bar. We all get stuck. And that is ok.

Know that you aren't trying to "create" and you are more of an interpreter will help break through the silence.

the brand...

Next comes the hard part of the business... The branding. Thankfully social media makes it pretty easy. When putting yourself out there, make sure your platform is relatable, inviting and represents you! From your photos to any videos you have, start collecting them and making your portfolio so when the opportunity arises, you're ready
